Virgin Australia Holdings Limited is an Australian airline holding company based in Brisbane. Originally founded in 2000 as Virgin Blue, Virgin Australia now operates an extensive network of domestic services and international services from its main hub at Brisbane Airport.

Virgin Australia has progressively evolved from its beginnings as a low-cost carrier, through a phase as a hybrid airline to where it stands today as a full-service carrier. It is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: VAH). VAH's main owners are Nanshan Group, HNA Group, Singapore Airlines and Etihad Airways. The company's founder Sir Richard Branson/Virgin Group remains as a 10% shareholder.

The Virgin Australia Group encompasses:

  • Virgin Australia (since 2000)
  • Virgin Samoa (49% JV, since 2005. Airline ceased on 12-Nov-2017)
  • Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (100%, since 2013)
  • Tigerair Australia (100%, since 2014)
