About
Grupo Aeroméxico is a Mexican airline group that operates national flag carrier, Aeromexico and regional carrier, Aeromexico Connect. The company is owned by a diverse group of private investors as well as by Fondos Banamex (a Citigroup subsidiary) and GBM. The company is headquartered in Mexico City. Founded in 1934, Aeromexico operates scheduled international and domestic services from its base at Mexico City International Airport, in partnership with Aeromexico Connect, established as a subsidiary in Dec-1990.
On 01-Oct-2021, Aeromexico filed its restructuring plan as part of the company's Chapter 11 process, in addition to a disclosure statement and a motion to approve solicitation procedures related to the plan. Aeromexico Group announced the completion of its restructuring process and emergence from Chapter 11 proceedings on 17-Mar-2022.
In Dec-2022, Aeromexico Group announced Mexico's National Banking and Securities Commission authorised the delisting of its shares from the Mexican Stock Exchange.
