The Air Traffic & Navigation Services Company Ltd (ATNS) is the South African organisation responsible for providing a range of air traffic management services to airspace users operating across the South African Flight Information Region (FIR) and associated areas of responsibility. This FIR accounts for approximately 10% of the world’s airspace. Services extend beyond purely air traffic control, to include the provision of aeronautical information used for flight planning purposes as well as search and rescue coordination and the maintenance of the country's aircraft navigation infrastructure.
