Vinci positions for next phase of Aeroports de Paris privatisation

Premium Analysis

Another major construction firm has bought into a leading European airport operator. Vinci has purchased a 3.3% stake in Aeroports de Paris (ADP), as it positions for a bigger future slice of the Paris airports operator, whose shares soared 13% on the news.

ADP was partially privatised in 2006, although the French Government retains a 68.4% stake in the company. Vinci is confident this level could be reduced, but clarified it does not intend to raise its shareholding above its current level, "unless there is a change in the government's shareholding in the future".
