Taiwan's China Airlines buys 3 leased Boeing 737-800s for 2.23 bln twd

Taipei (XFN-ASIA) - China Airlines Co Ltd (2610.TW) said it

has bought three Boeing 737-800 jetliners, already serving in its fleet on lease,

for a total of 2.23 bln twd.

The sellers/leasers were Hercules Aviation, Scorpio Aviation and Capricorn Aviation, it said in a filing with the stock exchange.

On August 20, one of the carrier's Boeing 737-800 jetliners burst into flames on the tarmac at Naha Airport in Okinawa, Japan, just minutes after all 165 people aboard have evacuated.
