South Korea to privatise Cheongju International Airport

South Korea's Government announced it intends to privatise the loss-making Cheongju International Airport by the end of Jun-2011. The airport is operated by the Korea Airports Corporation, which saw its shares fall 2.5% on Monday, in a day of generally lower trading for airport shares.

China's Guangzhou Airport reported the following traffic highlights in Feb-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 3.5 million, +2.4% year-on-year;
  • Cargo volume: 63,361 tonnes, -10.2%;
  • Aircraft movements: 27,459, -0.9%.
