SITA and Avaya SC form global alliance dedicated to the travel and transportation industry

Avaya Inc, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, and SITA SC, the only global communication services integrator dedicated to the travel and transportation industry (TTI), today announced a global alliance to bring next generation of Internet Protocol (IP)-based communication products and services to the industry.

The companies will jointly supply and tailor advanced IP-based communication products and services, such as IP Telephony and Contact Centres, for SITA's 2,000+ customers and members. TTI customers will benefit from Avaya's global market leadership in IP telephony combined with SITA's experience and leadership in communication services integration for the TTI community.

Under the terms of the agreement, SITA will be licensed to resell Avaya's industry leading portfolio of products in over 220 countries and territories.

Through the agreement, SITA becomes part of a select group of strategic partners in Avaya's global alliance programme, targeted at system integrators and service providers. The programme will provide SITA with the resources, infrastructure and sales support required to supply integrated Avaya-managed solutions to its TTI customers worldwide.

The partnership brings best practices in networking and technology to the travel and transportation industry by combining Avaya's advanced portfolio of converged IP Telephony products with SITA's in-depth understanding of the sector. The alliance is the first of its kind in this sector for Avaya.
