Singapore's Changi Airports to advise Abu Dhabi on new airport plan

SINGAPORE (XFN-ASIA) - Changi Airports International (CAI) said it has

expanded its existing partnership with the Abu Dhabi Airports Co after

it was appointed today as adviser for the proposed 6.8 bln usd Midfield

Terminal Complex, which Abu Dhabi plans to build. Last month, CAI secured a contract to operate and manage the existing Abu Dhabi International airport.

It said the extension of the airport management contract is the largest airport planning assignment CAI will undertake outside Singapore.

The new Midfield Terminal Complex at the Abu Dhabi airport is designed to accommodate up to 40 mln passengers a year, roughly the combined capacity of terminals 1 and 2 of Changi Airport in Singapore.

Phase one of the new airport complex will be ready by 2010, it added.
