Shanghai Airport's profits fall by half in 2008

Shanghai International Airport Co Ltd, the listed operator of Shanghai Pudong International Airport, managed to increase its revenues by 7.0% in the 12 months ended Dec-08. But significant spending in the airport's new terminal and runway in 2008, coupled with declining traffic growth, ensured a dramatic reduction in both operating (-45.0%) and net (-49.0%) profits in the period.
