SACL welcomes Federal Government's response to the Wheeler report
SYDNEY (Sydney Airport Corporation) - Sydney Airports Corporation Limited (SACL) today welcomed the Federal Government's response to the Wheeler report into security and policing issues at Australia's airports.
SACL Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Max Moore-Wilton said Sydney Airport stood ready to assist the Federal Government in implementing the Wheeler recommendations.
"I support the Federal Government's efforts to address these important issues and welcome the Prime Minister's $200 million funding announcement today".
"Sydney Airport supports the need for greater co-operation between the States and Commonwealth to improve airport security and community policing at major airports. We are hopeful that Commonwealth and State leaders will agree on a range of practical measures for co-operation at next week's Council of Australian Governments meeting."
