Shares in World Fuel Services Corp gained 8.6% in trading on Friday, following the company's strong final quarter results announced last week and merger and acquisition news. WFSC also announced last week that its wholly owned subsidiary, World Fuel Services, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ascent Aviation Group, a distributor of aviation fuel and de-icing fluids.
