Turkish airport traffic surges 21.5% in first 10 months of 2010

Turkish state airport operator, DHMI, reports a 21.5% increase in passenger numbers at Turkey's major airports to 89.5 million in the first 10 months of 2010. The country’s airports handled 85.5 million for the whole of 2009.

International passenger numbers rose 18.1% in the first 10 months of 2010, while domestic volumes surged 25.4%.

DHMI stated Ankara Esenboga Airport saw the biggest increase in domestic passengers, while Antalya Airport enjoyed the strongest increase in international passengers in Oct-2010.

Shares in Turkish/foreign airport operator TAV eased 0.8% on Friday.

Elsewhere, Ferrovial fell 3.1%, AdP eased 0.3% and Fraport gained 0.2%.
