Thai AirAsia to increase fleet
SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Thai AirAsia confirmed plans to increase its fleet from nine to at least 12 B737s by the end of 2006 to launch new services to the Mekong Subregion and Southern China.
The carrier is launching daily service to Krabi in Mar-06 - its eighth domestic destination.
Thai AirAsia: "We will continue to grow. It will be a good year because we are flying to places that other airlines are not. It might be tough because of the increasing fuel prices, but, if we could survive the fuel hikes in 2005, there is no reason why we can't survive them this year." Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO.
