Malaysia Airports restructuring finalised. Loan secured for LCCT, but government hurdles remain

The restructuring of MAHB's finances, a work in progress that stretches back over several years, has finally been concluded. In return for higher payments to the government and a slight reduction in the concession period Kuala Lumpur will get its much needed replacement low cost terminal (LCCT). But AirAsia will still need to see a reduction in fees to convince it that it is best served by staying there. In the meantime, the proposed AirAsia/Sime Darby terminal looks less likely to materialise, but has not yet gone away completely.
