Macau's opportunities and challenges
Macau International Airport Company Ltd obtained its best full-year results
in 2006 since its opening in 1995. Revenue for the 12 months ended 31-Dec-06
increased 21.1% year-on-year, backed by a 13% rise in aeronautical revenue,
due to a 17.1% rise in passenger numbers to 5.0 million. Income from non-aeronautical
sources generated by the airport's commercial activities also played a
key role, rising 7.6%. Operating profit in the period rose 72.3% - off a small

and depreciation costs associated with the airport's construction. Although,
in comparison with 2005, the net loss has been decreased by 51%.
