Hyderabad Airport defers second phase expansion due to poor traffic performance

Airports Authority of India (AAI) reports total passenger numbers at Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport fell 18.8% year-on-year in Jan-2009, owing to a domestic traffic slump of 25.1% to 372,543 passengers, weakening again from a slight recovery in Dec-08. International traffic increased 4.1% year-on-year in Jan-2009 to 139,996 passengers.
