Hamburg enters World's Top 100 international airports

Although passenger numbers increased sufficiently in 2008 for Hamburg Airport, the country’s fifth busiest, to enter the world’s Top 100 international airports, turnover declined and profitability slipped badly. Strict cost management principles have been introduced but the management will invest a further EUR40 million into infrastructure in 2009 as the ‘HAM21’ project comes to its conclusion.
