Denpasar (Bali) Airport’s domestic terminal to be expanded
The Indonesian Vice President, Jusuf Kalla, has confirmed plans to expand Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali under a two-year project that will commence in Apr-09. The reconstruction project will include expansion of the domestic terminal to 70,000 sq m (the same size as the international terminal) and the construction of improved road access to/from the airport. Funding for the project will come from state-owned airport operator, PT Angkasa Pura I and unspecified "other sources." The airport has a current capacity of two million passengers per annum, but actually accommodates four million.
