China raise jet fuel surcharge on short flights to 60 yuan from 30 - UPDATE
The change will take effect from Sept 1.
The regulator also said, in a statement on its website, that the surcharge for routes of over 800 km will be increased to 100 yuan from 60 .
Last March, the CAAC raised the fuel surcharge on domestic flights under 800 km to 30 yuan from 20 , and increased the surcharge for flights of over 800 km to 60 yuan, from 40.
Last month, government officials announced that the country's airlines posted combined losses of 2.5 bln yuan in the first half of this year, largely due to surging jet fuel prices.
