British Airways to relaunch premium class on China flights
Analysis
BEIJING (XFNews-ASIA) - British Airways (BA) will relaunch premium class on flights between London and Beijing next month after a three-year hiatus, the South China Morning Post reported.
The Hong Kong newspaper cited BA executives as saying China's robust economy and an emerging middle class are spurring interest in premium-class air travel on the mainland.
The bulk of the demand for first and business-class tickets continues to be driven by Western executives pursuing commercial interests but China's nouveau riche are showing interest, the report said.
"The recent trend holds great promise," Fernando Suarez, BA's general manager for Greater China and the Philippines was quoted as saying.
