British Airways reports October traffic
SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - British Airways reports passenger numbers on Asia Pacific services in Oct-05 rose 16.8% year-on-year to 172,000, while total cargo traffic (RTKs) fell 4.7% to 439.0 million.
British Airways (BA) reports (04-Nov-05) revenue for the three months ended 30-Sep-05 rose 8.2% year-on-year to GBP2.2 billion, due to "capacity restraint by the industry resulting in a more stable price environment". However, BA reported a 24.0% year-on-year fall to GBP171.0 million in net profit due to industrial action.
British Airways: "Assuming continued stable economies and a rational capacity environment, some yield improvement is now expected for this financial year. Despite the improved revenue outlook, market conditions remain broadly unchanged as significant promotional activity is required to maintain seat factors," Martin Broughton, Chairman.
