Bengaluru International Airport's Sep-08 passenger numbers fall 18.9%

Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) announced plans to slow Bengaluru International Airport’s major expansion programme, as a result of the current economic slowdown and a recent sharp decline in passenger traffic. Outgoing BIAL CEO, Albert Brunner, stated, “because of the economic meltdown and losses incurred by BIAL, we have stalled all our future expansion plans for the next two years.”
