ARINC Wins a Significant Contract Renewal from ExpressJet Airlines
Analysis
Annapolis, Maryland (ARINC) - ARINC Incorporated has won renewal of its GLOBALinkSM data link communications contract with ExpressJet Airlines, one of the nation's leading regional carriers. Operating as Continental Express, ExpressJet provides regional service for Continental Airlines to 152 destinations throughout North America.
"We originally selected ARINC as our data link partner when we started our program in 2002," said Jon Weaver, ExpressJet Staff Vice President - System Operations. "They have always been responsive, and they recently came through with timely support to help us add new data applications. ARINC's level of service was a huge positive factor in our decision."
Under the new contract, ARINC will continue providing ExpressJet's 274-plane fleet with its industry-leading GLOBALink/VHF data link service. The renewal by ExpressJet follows a similar win for ARINC last month at Continental Airlines. Continental maintains robust global air-ground communications using a combination of ARINC's VHF, HFDL, and Satcom data services.
"We are delighted to continue our longstanding record of service to ExpressJet Airlines," stated Russell Matthias, ARINC Director, Commercial Aviation Sales. "This award further convinces us that anticipating our customers' needs is a prime responsibility of today's communications providers."
ExpressJet Airlines operates a fleet of Embraer regional jets as Continental Express, serving 152 destinations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, from hubs in Houston, New York/Newark and Cleveland, as well as additional non-hub service.
