Airline losses will be cut substantially from 2009 levels – executives survey

Airline executives are increasingly optimistic that profitability is improving, although regional variation remains. Asian, Latin American and Middle Eastern airlines are “more positive” than their counterparts in Europe and North America, according to a recent IATA survey of airline executives. Two thirds of carriers expect to see improved profitability over the next 12 months, however, the survey was undertaken before the Greek debt crisis deepened in early May-2010.
