Qingdao Airport plans to construct second airport

Qingdao Liuting International Airport Group completed a site plan for a proposed second airport in Jun-2009, now subject to government approval, due to expectations the current airport will reach full capacity of 16 million passengers p/a in 2015. Qingdao Airport aims to transform the second airport into a regional hub, including an international and domestic flight transfer centre. Details were not disclosed as to who would fund the second airport or is foreign investment will be invited.
