Norwegian Air Shuttle's losses widen in 4Q08, with demand continuing to weaken

Scandinavia's largest LCC, Norwegian Air Shuttle, posted a net loss of EUR17.1 million in 4Q08 (three months ended 31-Dec-08), a worsening from the EUR2.5 million net loss reported in the previous corresponding period. Norwegian's major Scandinavian competitor, SAS, meanwhile, reported a widened net loss of EUR246.3 million in the quarter (compared to a net loss of EUR55.6 million in the previous corresponding period).
