New global hand baggage rules imminent
New rules recommended by ICAO prohibiting passengers to carry
liquid items (including gels and aerosols) of greater than 100 millilitres on
board aircraft are due to come into force tomorrow (01-Mar-07). The harmonisation
step, which will bring passengers in various parts of the world under the new
security measures for the first time, has been welcomed by Airports Council
International (ACI).
