Menzies shares continue to climb
Shares in Menzies continued to climb on Wednesday, up 3.4%, following the strong financial results and positive outlook reported by the newspaper distribution and airport ground handling company. Earnings from the company's aviation unit are expected to nearly match those of its distribution business.
Expedia has stated it sees great potential to expand the online travel market in Asia and noted that the travel market in the region is almost as large as the US or Europe and growing much faster than the established markets . Expedia aims to expand hotel-airline combination tours and 24/7 telephone customer support in Japan. Online activities account for only 24% of Japan's travel market. Expedia shares eased 0.7% yesterday.
