Malaysia's AirAsia Q3 to March passenger load up 55.3 pct yr-on-yr

KUALA LUMPUR (XFNews) - AirAsia Bhd said its group passenger load for the third quarter to March this year jumped 55.3 pct to 2.53 mln people from 1.63 mln in the same period last year.
In a statement, the budget carrier said growth in passenger volume for Malaysia was registered at 41.9 pct in the quarter to 1.56 mln people from 1.1 mln in the corresponding period last year, while its Thailand operations posted passenger volume growth of 60.6 pct to 658,672 from 410,005 previously.
Indonesia saw a 160.9 pct surge in passenger growth to 313,099 during the quarter from 119,992 in the comparative year-earlier period.
