Malaysia Airlines' India flight operations

Analysis

KUALA LUMPUR (Malaysia Airlines) - Malaysia Airlines has activated several advanced measures for its flight operations in anticipation of the industrial action at Indian airports on 29 September 2005.

Its Kuala Lumpur/Ahmedabad/Kuala Lumpur flights for 29 September 2005 have been cancelled. The few passengers already booked on flights MH178 from Kuala Lumpur to Ahmedabad departing 1945 hours and MH179 from Ahmedabad to Kuala Lumpur departing 2320 hours have been advised in advance of this cancellation.

In addition Malaysia Airlines has made alternative flight arrangements for the passengers of these cancelled flights.

Meanwhile, the airline's flights from Kuala Lumpur to Chennai, Mumbai and return on that day will be operated on schedule as the respective airports of these two Indian cities have activated contingency measures to minimise customer discomfort during the proposed industrial action.

However, passengers of Malaysia Airlines flights into these two airports that day are advised to be prepared for prolonged check out formalities in the event of the industrial action that day.
