London Luton unveils long term development plan

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - London Luton Airport (LTN) launched a draft Master Plan for the long-term development of the airport.
The plan is aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and improving space utilisation, with LTN forecast to reach maximum capacity in the next few years. Phase I of the project is expected for completion by the end of 2007 and would include:

Construction of additional aircraft stands;

Extension of the passenger terminal and associated piers;

Extension of the parallel taxiway;

Construction of a multi-storey car park.
Phase II of the project would include construction of: Full length replacement runway;

New South Terminal;

Additional aircraft stands;
-
New Fire Station and Control Tower.
