Kuala Lumpur International Airport records strong month in Jan-2010: Airport Share Wrap
In Southeast Asia yesterday, shares in Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) dipped 2.6%, upon the release of the airport operator's traffic report for Jan-2010. Passenger numbers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport rose 19.7% year-on-year in the month, led by a 26.4% year-on-year increase in international passengers to 1.8 million, while domestic passengers reached 781,474 (+6.6%). Cargo volumes jumped 28.3% in Jan-2010, on a 7.3% increase in aircraft movements.
Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) weak in Feb-2010
Meanwhile in Latin America, Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) reported a 12.5% decrease in passenger traffic for Feb-2010. The domestic market suffered a greater downturn, with passenger falling 13.4% year-on-year to 662,628, while international traffic was down 8.7% year-on-year to 183,497 passengers.
Shares in OMA led the way up yesterday, gaining 4.2%.
