Korean Air reports October traffic

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Korean Air reports the following traffic highlights in Oct-05:

  • Passenger numbers: 2.0 million, +12.8% year-on-year;
    • Domestic: 994,794, +15.9%;
    • International: 982,969, +9.8%;
  • Cargo volume: 178,198 tonnes, -4.3% - see Asia Pacific Traffic Table for more information.

"Freight volume for China and Europe operations rose 24.4% and 3.8% respectively, while freight volume for the US and Southeast Asia were down 9.1% and 15.1% respectively…we expect a recovery in cargo demand at the end of the year. As such, we have added a B747-400ERF to our fleet to meet the anticipated rebound," Jong Hee Lee, President and COO.
