Kenya Airways launches Nampula services; Jazeera Airways shares down 3.2%

Kenya Airways (-1.1%) launched service to Nampula with the city becoming the second in Mozambique to be serviced by the carrier. The carrier plans to launch service to other African destinations, including Ouagadougou, N'djamena and Point Noire in 2011.

Meanwhile, Kenya's transport minister Amos Kimunya stated Kenya Airways recent domestic and international flight delays are not caused by reports of low staff morale, but by technical problems at some airports and staff shortage issues currently in Europe.

Middle East and African shares were a mixed bag on Thursday (09-Dec-2010) with Jazeera (-3.2%) and Lonrho (-2.9) down while 1time (+1.3%) and Kuwait National Airways (+1.4%) shares gained.
