Jazeera Airways cuts aircraft order; SpiceJet shares stronger

Analysis

Jazeera Airways cancelled orders for 25 A320s last month after Dubai Aerospace Enterprise's DAE Capital leasing unit cancelled orders for 18 A320s and 12 A350-900s in Feb-2011. The 43 cancelled A320 orders were worth around USDD3.7 billion at list prices.

The decision to adjust the short-term fleet size was part of an internal business enhancement plan called the "Turn-Around Plan" that began rolling out in May-2010. Jazeera Airways expects to receive four new A320s between 2012 and end of 2014 as part of the airline's fleet modernisation programme

Jazeera Airways shares fell 3.2% in trading on Wednesday.

Shares in SpiceJet continued to climb, up 8.7% hitting a seven-week high after a fourth consecutive day of positive trading.
