Japan Airport Terminal shares slip - Airport share wrap

Analysis

The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation is initiating coverage of Japan Airport Terminal Co Ltd's (JAT) share price, as part of our daily wrap. The company, in which Australia's Macquarie Airports (MAp) owns a strategic stake, engages in the construction and management of passenger terminal facilities at Tokyo International Airport (Haneda).

JAT's shares have been under pressure as the Japanese economy has contracted sharply, with the shares falling from its 52-week high of JPY2,345 to JPY1,040 yesterday, down 3.4% on the day - and worse than the 1.5% decline on the Nikkei 225 index.

Elsewhere, Beijing Airport shares advanced 3.6% and Hochtief recovered all of Monday's losses, rising 8.4%.
