JAL Offers Round-the-World ‘Global Explorer Fares’

Analysis

Japan Airlines (JAL) starts selling round-the-world `Global Explorer' fares for travel commencing April 1, 2006. JAL will become a participating carrier in the fare scheme, enabling `Global Explorer' travelers to incorporate JAL's worldwide network into their round-the-world itineraries.

'Global Explorer' fares offer simple, flexible, and affordable round-the-world travel in first, business or economy class. Travelers can choose to go on up to a yearlong journey around the world, and depending on the fare tier level they purchase, can stopover in a maximum of 15 destinations. A round-the-world itinerary could include a South Pacific island, some of the great cities of Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia.

At present, passengers can travel around the world on the combined network offered by such participating carriers as Aer Lingus, Air Pacific, American Airlines, Australian Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Gulf Air, Iberia, LAN, LANPERU, and Qantas.

When travelers construct their `Global Explorer' itineraries for trips commencing on or after April 1 2006, they can now also choose to include travel on the air network provided by JAL and two JAL Group subsidiaries, JALways, and Japan Asia Airways.

For full information, fares, bookings, rules and conditions, please contact your local JAL Reservation Center, other participating airlines' reservation centers or locally appointed travel agents.
