Infratil sells stake in Auckland Airport, Mexican airports continue to rise

Auckland Airport's shares fell 1.0% in early morning trading following the announcement by Infratil that it has sold its 3.87% stake in the airport at a price of NZD1.84 per share.

Infratil, whose shares remained stable in early morning trading, will receive NZD87.3 million (USD65 million) from the sale.

In Europe, Italian airport operators, Aeroporto di Venezia, Aeroporto Toscano and Aeroporto di Firenze went against the trend, closing down 2.6%, -0.7% and 0.5%, respectively. Fraport's shares were stable.

Mexican airport operators continued their recent ascent, led by GAP (+5.8%). OMA's shares rose 3.0% in trading yesterday, following the release of its Oct-2009 traffic, which showed the largest decline of the three major Mexican airport operators.

Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA) traffic highlights in Oct-2009:

  • Passenger numbers: 910,340, -12.4% year-on-year;
    • Domestic: 793,869, -11.6%;
    • International: 116,471, -17.0%.
