GMG Airlines Flying to Kuala Lumpur

Gmguala Lumpur (MALAYSIA AIRPORTS HOLDINGS BHD) - Malaysia Airports is pleased to announce that GMG Airlines, a private-owned airline from Bangladesh will start its operations to Kuala Lumpur. The airline is scheduled to start operating by 24 January 2007.

GMG will operate three flights weekly, with operations on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, flying on the Dhaka - Kuala Lumpur vice versa route utilising MD82 type of aircraft with 153 seating. The General Sales Agent (GSA) for GMG is Carnival Travel Sdn Bhd a subsidiary company of Grand Paradise Holdings Sdn Bhd.

This latest inclusion was announced in a press conference held at Malaysia Airports' Marketing office at Menara IMC, Kuala Lumpur by Mr. Virendra Nautiyal, Director Commercial International Operations of GMG Airlines. Representing Malaysia Airports were Dato' Azmi Murad (Senior General Manager, Operations Services) and Encik Mohamed Sallauddin Hj. Mat Sah, Senior Manager Marketing while Paradise Group were represented by Mr. Pardip Kumar Kukreja, Executive Chairman and Carnival Travel Sdn Bhd General Manager, Mr. Manjit Singh Malli.

Dato' Azmi Murad said: "We are very pleased with GMG's decision to fly to Kuala Lumpur as it will provide more options and connectivity for passengers to fly to Bangladesh."

Currently, flights to Bangladesh are offered by Malaysia Airlines and Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national carrier of Bangladesh.

He added: "We will assist GMG in every possible way to make their operations to Kuala Lumpur smooth and long lasting."

KL International Airport (KLIA) welcomed two new airlines in the past two months - Kuwait Airways and Cebu Pacific Air, and the inclusion of GMG will see the total airlines operating to KLIA rise to 48.

GMG Airlines started its operations on 6th April, 1998 and today it has geared up the concept of air travel in Bangladesh and neighboring countries by providing exceptional service which is valued & cherished by all travelers. GMG Airlines has made aviation history of Bangladesh when it became the only private airline of Bangladesh to fly on international routes. This historical event took place on 8th September 2004 on their first international flight from Chittagong to Kolkata.
