Fraport seeks airport fee compromise; Dufry merger set for March; improved profits for AoT?
Fraport stated it is hoping for a compromise with airlines in its negotiations over airport charges, with spokesman, Juergen Harrer, commenting to Dow Jones, that "if all parties are want to agree, we will reach a workable solution".
An agreement on charges at Frankfurt Airport for the 2012-2015 period is scheduled to be reached by the end of this week. Fraport's shares fell 0.6% on Friday, while shares in AdP and Hochtief were also weaker, falling 2.1% and 1.7%, respectively.
Dufry merger set for Mar-2010 completion after signing of Merger and Amalgamation agreement
Dufry shares gained 1.1%, as Dufry AG (DAG), Dufry South America (DSA) and Dufry Holdings & Investments (BDR) entered a Merger and Amalgamation Agreement, paving the way for a full merger next month. As part of the agreement, DSA shareholders and BDR holders will be paid an extraordinary USD4.71 cash dividend per DSA Share/BDR.
AoT shares reach 2 week high ahead of financial release
Airports of Thailand gained 1.3% to THB40 on Friday, after reaching an intra-day high at THB40.25, its highest level since 26-Jan-2010, on expectations the airport operator would report a strong quarterly net profit, due to foreign exchange gains and increased passengers and aircraft movements, helped by the improving economy and recovery in tourism. AoT's financial results for the Dec-2009 quarter are scheduled to be released later today.
Also in the Asia Pacific region, shares in Japan Airport Terminal gained 5.0%.
