Flughafen Wien Group reports strong 2010

Austria's Flughafen Wien Group reported a net profit of EUR75.5 million for 2010, supported by strong revenue growth of 15.8% in its airport business, which makes up nearly half of group revenue. IN 2010, revenue grew 6.4% year-on-year, although its ground handling business saw a 2.7% decline in revenue. The company expects further growth in 2011. Vienna Airport shares rose 2.5% in trading yesterday, with strong gains for Korean Airport Corp (+3%) and GVK Infrastructure (+3.1%).

Flughafen Wien Group financial highlights for the 12 months ended 31-Dec-2010:

    • Airport: EUR260 million, +14.8%;
    • Handling: EUR165.2 million, -2.7%;
    • Retail and properties: EUR93.6 million, +5.4%;
  • EBIT: EUR102.3 million, +2.8%;
  • EBITDA: EUR168.1 million, +1.0%;
    • Airport: EUR112.4 million, -0.8%;
    • Handling: EUR22.0 million, +5.8%;
    • Retail and properties: EUR52.6 million, -7.7%;
  • Net profit: EUR75.7 million, +3.2%;
  • Passenger numbers: 19.7 million, +8.7%;
  • Cargo volume: 295,989 tonnes, +16.5%;
  • Aircraft movements: 246,146, +1.1%.

Japan Immigration Bureau's Narita branch stated the number of foreigners arriving at Tokyo Narita International Airport between 11-Mar-2011, when the earthquake and tsunami struck Japan, and 22-Mar-2011, has declined by around 60% year-on-year to around 67,000 arrivals. In contrast, foreigners departing Japan over the period increased by around 20,000 to around 190,000 people. The Narita International Airport Corporation announced that almost all the facilities including terminal facilities, flight support and fuel supply system (oil stocks for seven days as designated) are operating normally.
