easyJet reported passenger numbers jumped 23.7% year-on-year to 4.6 million in Aug-08, primarily due to easyJet's recent acquisition of GB Airways from British Airways and heavy promotional activity in Jun-08 and Jul-08, in which the airline offered up to a 20% fare reduction on 2 million seats.
