Last week's annual report confirmed Aeroflot as one of the more profitable airlines in the world. Reporting calendar year 2007 net profit up by 21.4% (to USD313.4 million) on 27.3% higher revenues, the transformed former USSR behemoth has become an aggressive and competitive Russian flag carrier strategically placed at the centre of one of the world's fastest growing economies.
