Dubai Airport stays ahead of Singapore Changi in May-2010; Dubai World Central opens

Premium Analysis

Dubai Airport may have steamed ahead of Singapore Changi Airport in the hub stakes during the global financial crisis, but Changi made up some ground in May-2010. The outlook, however, is for Dubai to continue to press home its ascendency, as the forecast for summer and beyond is very buoyant on the back of significant capacity expansion by airlines. Changi Airport, meanwhile, is anchored by Singapore Airlines' capacity restraint (growing its ASKs by just 2% in 2010/11), although the Southeast Asian hub is seeing some strong growth by other full-service airlines and LCCs.
