Construction of Ivanpah Airport near Las Vegas ready to commence

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Clark County Department of Aviation announced the construction of the new Ivanpah Airport, 30 miles southwest of Las Vegas, is ready to commence.

The announcement follows a USD14.2 million environmental impact report with positive findings. Phase I of construction is estimated at USD4 billion. The airport would have an initial capacity of 6 million passengers per annum, and is scheduled to commence operations in 2017. The initial airport plan includes a 14-gate terminal with two parallel runways.
