China United to resume operations

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - China United Airlines (formerly owned by the Chinese military) will resume operations on 20-Oct-05 after it was acquired last year by Shanghai Airlines. Details include:

Base: Beijing Nanyuan Airport (military/civil facility);
Network: Wuxi, Dalian, Harbin, Hohhot, Chengdu;
Fleet: not disclosed;
Owners: Shanghai Airlines (80%), China Aviation Supplies Import & Export Group Co (20%);
Registered capital: CNY100 million.
