Cathay Pacific Renews Contract with ARINC; Will Use Multiple GLOBALinkSM Services

Singapore (CATHAY PACIFIC) - Cathay Pacific Airways, recently named "Airline of the Year" by global travel organization OAG, has renewed its GLOBALinkSM flight data link contract with ARINC Incorporated. The 5-year contract renewal was announced today by the Asia/Pacific division of ARINC Incorporated.


Cathay Pacific will continue using ARINC's GLOBALink/VHF, GLOBALink/HF, GLOBALink/Satellite, and Graphic/Text Weather services (G/TWS). The Hong Kong based international carrier is one of ARINC's largest customers for data link.

"Since 2002, ARINC's GLOBALink services have been indispensable in maintaining the robust and reliable communications we require for our mission-critical activities, including flight operations, engineering, and cabin services," stated Captain John McCormick, Cathay Pacific General Manager of Operations. "We are delighted to continue enhancing our communications infrastructure with ARINC's support, and we look forward to strengthening a very good business relationship."

ARINC's GLOBALink services provide the airline with global coverage for ACARS® flight data communications via VHF, HF and Satellite. Cathay Pacific is an industry innovator in using data link for advanced applications, including automatic downloading of engine data, and automatic downlink of proactive diagnostic data for Inflight Entertainment (IFE) system components.
