CAAC reports strong traffic growth in 2005 and forecasts further strong growth for 2006

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - CAAC reports the following traffic/finance highlights and forecasts for all Chinese carriers for the eleven months ended Nov-05:

  • Total passsenger numbers: 126.8 million, +12.7% year-on-year;
  • Cargo volume: 2.8 million tonnes, +8.8%;
  • Combined profit: CNY2.6 billion;
  • 2006 passenger forecast: 159 million, +15%;
  • 2006 cargo volume forecast: 3.4 million tonnes,+10%;
  • Aircraft deliveries: Chinese carriers to add 142 aircraft in 2006.
