Boeing considers raising 2012 dividend

Analysis

Increased aircraft production and the beginning of deliveries of the B787 and B747-8 this year may lead Boeing to increase its dividend in 2012 as its cash flow improves, according to Boeing CFO James Bell. Boeing has confirmed it is examining whether it is feasible to increase B737 production to 42 aircraft per month beyond 2013.

The manufacturer will also begin looking at acquisition opportunities as expenditure on aircraft development programmes eases. Shares in Boeing were up 0.9%, in a solid day for most aerospace companies. Shares in EADS were up 2%, while BE Aerospace gained 1.6%.
