Boeing and B/E Aerospace gain, AAR Corp and BAE Systems weaker

Analysis

Boeing's shares gained 0.5% and Airbus parent EADS eased 1.5% yesterday. Air China is reportedly in discussions with both manufacturers regarding an order for new widebody aircraft, including A350 and B787 aircraft, according to a Dow Jones report.

In other supplier highlights yesterday:

B/E Aerospace shares are currently trading above the 50-day moving average of USD26.68 and above the 200-day moving average of USD24.90, according to SmarTrend.

AAR Corp gave up all the previous day's gains, dropping 4.1% as investors digested the company's latest financial results.

BAE Systems (-2.9%) was also lower as it confirmed yesterday that it completed the acquisition of all of the stock of Atlantic Marine Holding Company, a ship MRO and construction provider, for USD352 million in cash.

The aircraft lessors generally had a positive day, with ALAFCO gaining 3.5%, AerCap 1.4%, Aircastle 0.7% and FLY Leasing 0.3%.
